On October 19th, China's civil aviation work is actively implementing important instructions from the central government and vigorously promoting the construction of "four types of airports" that are safe, green, intelligent, and humane. Among them, the construction of "smart airports" is an important measure to lead the intelligent development of civil aviation and further promote the informationization and intelligence construction of civil aviation in China.

As one of the three major gateway composite hub airports in China, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Baiyun Airport) has opened more than 400 domestic and international routes. According to the 2021 Guangzhou Transportation Development Annual Report released by the Guangzhou Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, Baiyun Airport has an annual passenger throughput of 40.26 million, ranking first in the country for two consecutive years in terms of single airport throughput.

Nowadays, passengers flying around the world can immediately feel the convenience brought by technology as soon as they step into Baiyun Airport. Around the four major nodes of check-in, security check, waiting, and boarding, passengers can complete a complete set of paperless customs clearance processes such as self-service check-in, self-service luggage check-in, self-service security check, intelligent flight information display, and self-service boarding through facial recognition, greatly simplifying the check-in process and reducing queuing waiting time.

Baiyun Airport has become the first airport in China to implement intelligent customs clearance on a large scale. Behind this is the efforts made by Kuangshi, as a provider of China Aviation Information Technology's identity verification technology, to provide customers with safe, convenient, and personalized modern airport services through self-developed high-precision recognition algorithms, focusing on key construction scenarios such as self-service boarding services, comprehensive passenger management, and internal personnel management.

Smart Travel, Creating ONE-ID Platform to Assist Passengers in Convenient Customs Clearance Throughout the Whole Process

Relying on identity verification technology to provide passengers with paperless customs clearance services throughout the entire process requires deep integration of new technologies with airport operation, service, and management modes, covering various aspects such as self-service check-in, self-service luggage check-in, self-service security, smart flight information display, and self-service boarding. Through comprehensive innovation, it drives the intelligent operation and management of airports. In various stages of passenger passage, Kuangshi intelligent software and hardware products are integrated to help passengers achieve paperless one face passage.

Building a paperless basic application platform for serving passengers throughout the entire process of customs clearance

Meanwhile, the lack of a unified passenger information platform and industry technical standards greatly hinders the collaborative work of airports, airlines, and government departments, posing challenges for achieving paperless customs clearance services throughout the entire process. To this end, Kuangshi has built an ONE-ID customs clearance basic application platform, using standard API interfaces to unify the call methods for various scenarios, and seamlessly integrating the airport production system, passenger information system, flight dynamic system, security information system, and other internal management systems of airlines according to the standard specification system GAT1400 standard and GB2181 protocol. According to calculations, the development of the ONE-ID platform has successfully reduced passenger security screening time by 20%, increased passenger boarding efficiency by 40%, and reduced airport service personnel costs by 50%. While improving passenger travel experience, it also facilitates the expansion of public service applications for passengers.

Reduce costs and increase efficiency, build an employee transportation system to ensure aviation safety

Safety is the lifeline of airports, and ensuring aviation safety is the foundation for the survival and development of civil aviation. Among them, the Civil Transport Airport Security Facilities (MH/T 7003-2017) make clear provisions for the airport employee access system, requiring that access points and access control systems should be equipped with identity verification devices with biometric or password input functions. To this end, building a safe, efficient, and compliant employee access system that meets the requirements of civil aviation security audits has become an important means of promoting the construction of four types of airports and regulating airport operations.

By integrating the open field intelligent recognition system into the security staff passage, boarding gate outer passage, airport level staff passage, luggage storage staff passage, and other areas of Baiyun Airport, the current situation of relying too much on manual verification, unable to effectively identify visitors, and low travel efficiency has been greatly improved. Significant results have been achieved in reducing personnel verification positions, reducing labor costs, avoiding peak congestion, and enabling rapid personnel movement.

More importantly, this measure unifies the integration of airport access control system data and card system data, solving the "information chimney" situation where airports are not related to mutual assistance functions and do not share or exchange information in data management. By providing standardized and unified interfaces, it can also provide data support services for other business systems at the airport, assisting the construction of smart data centers, smart canteens, and smart attendance at Baiyun Airport. Taking data center operation management as an example, Kuangshi has developed a system that facilitates the management of data center entry and exit, key issuance, and identity verification of personnel entering the data center, in response to airport needs, helping operation and maintenance personnel standardize their work processes.
